Homemade potato skins dye for gray hair

An old remedy for gradual hair color darkening is made by using potato skins for hair wash. Potato skins are starchy substance that could color gray hair naturally within a few weeks or a few months after treatment.

Peel about 5-6 medium to large size potatoes. You will not use the potato core, so you can put it aside for cooking use. Collect the skins in a pot then pour 2 cups of water over them. Boil the water then reduce heat and let the potato skins to low heat for 15-20 minutes.

After cooling, strain the mixture over a large bowl. Store only the water and you can throw potato peels now. Keep the potato skins infusion in a glass container with tight lid. Optionally, add a few drops of rosemary or lavender oil to scent the lotion.

Wash your hair normally and apply hair conditioner. Leave the conditioner on for a minute or two, then rinse your hair thoroughly. White hairs are usually drier and tougher, so it’s important to moisturize your hair with a quality conditioner.

Apply the potato skins lotion on your hair and rub your head well, including the scalp. Don’t rinse your hair with water after applying it! Dry your hair and arrange it like you normally do. Put the lotion in the fridge.

It is recommended to apply this treatment every day, or at least 2-3 times a week for several weeks or several months. Arm yourself with patience and perseverance, because the effects show in time.
